Three Items

It's Thursday, everyone! You know what that means? Three words: Survivor; apprentice; CSI. I hope you all enjoy those crazy shows as much as I do. Can I just say right here, right now that I'm completely obsessed with reality shows!! Enough said about that guilty pleasure!
I have quite a few interesting topics to discuss tonight, so I apologize ahead of time for the length and randomness of my blog.
First item: Yes, if you haven't already heard, I got my student teaching placement yesterday. I went to the official meeting and got officially freaked out and nervous!!! But anyways...drum roll, please.....My student teaching assignment is for Eagle Rock Junior High School in Idaho Falls; I will be working with a female (YAY!) English teacher in the 8th grade. How excited are we?!?!?!? I came home last night after the meeting and looked on the internet for the school's website; sure enough it looks like a fun place and my cooperating teacher seems wacky but also seems like my kind of teacher, focusing on literature and reading!!! I start this crazy adventure on January 3rd and will be in the classroom until April 21st. Wish me luck as I embark on this journey that makes my palms sweat just thinking about it!!
Second item: Ben brought me flowers yesterday! (Hence the picture of white roses above) For no reason, really, except to tell me he loves me. Even though it is true that at times he's on my nerves and quite exhausting, it was a sweet gesture that I will remember for a long time. In addition to that, he did the dinner dishes last night and then tickled my back in bed. I sure do love him!
Third item: I'll try to leave out the juicy details on this one for the male readers, but it was a big part of my day today and cannot go unblogged!! I had my wonderful (hardly) yearly "woman" exam today. It was my 2nd of such lovely (nothing lovely about it) appointments and my first time with this particular doctor. (No worries, family, I'm not pregnant and I'm as healthy as ever). I hate doctors in general, but especially this type of doctor, one I would never visit unless necessary. Anyhow, the appointment itself took about 10 minutes and the doctor was real nice and gentle. But I left baffled. Why is it that all male OBGYN's are strikingly handsome? No doubt, I belief my husband is the most attractive man alive, but this guy, whoa, what a babe! It's awfully embarrassing to have to go through such an exam with such a pleasant looking young man (and yes, he was young!). I blushed both on the inside and out and resisted looking at him while he was...You know...It's embarrassing enough in those stirrups. But boy was I relieved when he gave me the goahead to get dressed and go home! That was probably my first and last appointment with that doctor because after April, I'm outta here. In the future though, I think I'll screen my doctors before setting up an appointment such as the one today. But then again, I can't imagine an older, wrinklier doctor would be any better. It's still the worst thing that a modest woman, like myself, can ever go through.
Sorry if I yucked any of you out with that last item of business. Happy Thursday and TGIF tomorrow!
