When I was in high school (oh, sooo many years ago) I was a HUGE fan of the Canadian band, Barenaked Ladies. I saw them in concert a few times and had all of their albums. I visited the fan website regularly and desperately wanted to be Mrs. Kevin Hearn!!!!
Today, as if the folks at Live with Regis and Kelly could sense my need, my favorite BNL appeared on my tv!! It was just like Christmas! They have just release a new Christmas album (that was the first I heard about it) and they sang two songs from the album. It was amazing. It made my day. It made me realize that life is OK and that this semester will end soon and that I will no longer have to worry about portfolios again until I assign one to my students.
So, thanks Regis and Kelly and Tyler, Ed, Steve, Kevin, and Jim...You made my day!!!
In other news...I met the cooperating teacher today. She's a spunky-sort-- young, hip, the cool teacher. I got the curriculum that I'll be teaching, the text-book that the students use and she gave me a mini tour of the classroom. The coolest thing is that I'll get my own desk! YAY! Five years of school and I finally get my OWN desk that I can put pictures of my family and goofy pencil holders and other strange office supplies. She eased my mind about the whole situation, but it still makes me a tid bit nervous to think that, as I walked through the hall, my students will be my height, if not taller!!! YIKES! Just to be on the safe side, I decided as I walked to her classroom that I would always wear my 3-inch heel boots (or other tall shoes that might find their way into my closet).
It's 7:30 and my man is nowhere in sight! So much for plans tonight. I have a pot of homemade soup on the stove...Probably cold by now.
Still busy with working on my darn portfolio for my last English class. It's due on Friday and it's given me gray hairs!!!
Sorry, that's all for now. Love you all.
