Dark-Haired Beauty Rides Again!

Well, I did it. I went for a BIG change. It's drastic and I'm not sure if I like it, but as she said, there's no turning back now!

The change?

I colored my hair. Dark. REALLY dark. It's almost as if overnight I transformed into the Chiquita Banana girl...I look almost Hispanic.

My mom and I went on Tuesday to the salon in Idaho Falls. I wanted a change and a little trim. The "change" I wanted basically was just to go a little darker color--darker than my real hair color, but not black--so I picked out a nice dark brown, which I thought looked just a few shades darker than my hair.

The nice hair-lady said, "Yeah, this will be a change. It will be darker." and I said, "Go for it! I'm ready." And so, she mixed the color, attacked my hair with the goo, and twenty minutes later I saw my new self in the mirror. Needless to say, at first I really liked it because it was wet and I thought that the wetness just made it look darker. She blew it dry and the second look in the mirror proved to be a shocker. It really WAS that dark! Think Rene Zellweger dark.

I kind of forgot about the color while we were shopping and I wasn't constantly looking in the mirror, but when I came home, the first thing Ben said was, "You got your hair black." I cried and said, "No, it's supposed to be dark brown." The fact that half of my forehead was also dyed dark made things worse.

After two washes, it's still pretty dark (both the hair and my forehead). Not that I thought it would suddenly disappear or anything, I was just hoping it'd tame down a little bit.

I'll try to get a decent picture of myself tonight so you all can experience what Ben now calls "Juanita Chiquita." We're going to help our friends pack (sniff, sniff) and I want to get some photos to remember our last day together.

Have a grand night and remember, if you go to color your hair, choose wisely because it may come out much worse than expected.

Love you all.
-Juanita
