finals, anyone?

Hullo again from a very un-energetic Lauren. Today's agenda:

1. Revise/edit Service Learning Project Portfolio, save, print, paper-clip.
2. Review study guide for Ethics of Literature test; review Ethics Theory text and "The Things They Carried," and "Writing with Style" by your pal and mine, John Trimble.
3. Return textbooks for cash (aka Christmas present money).
4. Eat dinner.
5. Go to sleep.

Here's a quick story for those of you who are desperate for some sort of Laurenism.

Yesterday, I made my semi-daily walk home from school. My feet weren't much in the mood for walking so I was going fairly slow. I was nearing the corner of my street, just about to pass the run-down house of the century. As I made my way over the piles of sandbags lining the sidewalk, I noticed a big, black, fanged German-Sheppard sitting in the middle of the driveway. For such a big and ungly dog, he sure had a fancy studded colar around his neck. His teeth were as big as my head and his eyes had the look of death. There was a small puddle of what I only assumed could have been doggy drool on the ground beneath him. I panicked, only because I hate big dogs that are generally known for their unkind demeanor.

I remembered hearing somewhere that dogs sense fear (or was that horses, I don't remember), so I tried to remain calm, not looking into Fido's direction.

What usually takes mere seconds to pass, this section of the sidewalk seemed to take me approximately 22 years, as my life flashed before my eyes. Each step was one step closer to home, but also could have been one step closer to my death.

Luckily, the dog never moved a muscle and I surrvived.

Happy day. Would anyone like to take my ethics final for me tomorrow?

Didn't think so.
