our simple strokes

You've all probably heard the saying "Simple strokes for simple folks." Or perhaps you're most familiar with "Simple pleasures for simple people." In other words, some people are amused at the simplest and sometimes silliest things.

My husband and I are no exception.

Last night on a brief trip to the grocery store to get three things, we stopped by the Greeting Card section. This isn't a normal stop for us since the aforementioned greeting cards cost you an arm and a leg to purchase. However, last night, we spent about 10 minutes reading cards. Some were funny and made us roll on the ground with painful laughter. Others were sweet and sentimental and made us want to hug and snuggle right there in the grocery store (usually, this is a big no-no for us). My point is that we actually enjoyed doing that. I enjoyed it because it cost us nothing and Ben enjoyed it because he got a good laugh. Fun, fun, fun!!

Am having a fabulous week and am quite looking forward to my three-day weekend! Wahoo! Since it's been ages since my last posting, let me give you a brief run-down of the events in my life, as if you truly care:
Trip to Utah: We wandered down to Utah last weekend. It was a weekend full of fantabulous events. First, we got to meet my older bro's girlfriend, Heather. She's a darling and I'm crossing fingers, legs, toes, eyes, and everything else that she'll be his forever. Second, after nearly two months of separation, we were able to see our ever-so-darling niece Cassidy, who, by-the-by can complete a sentence AND pick out letters of the alphabet if she feels like it. Third, Saturday night was an open house for two of our little munchkin brothers' receiving their Eagle Scout award AND and open house for dear dear mom and dad Hubert's 25th wedding anniversary. Thus, we were able to see lots of family and friends and since my hair is about a million shades darker than the last time they saw me, none of them recognized me.
Valentines Day: Fabulous day! Ben delivered a beautiful bouquet of roses to school during lunch and brought me Wendy's. It was splendid. Later that night, I made meatloaf. I know meatloaf doesn't sound like the most romantic dinner, but I made it heart-shaped and HE loved it!!
Student Teacher: Wonderful, excellent, grand and all of the above. If you really want to know more about this, e-mail me and I'll REALLY update you.

'Tis all for now. Love you all.
