not so beautiful baby

Today I saw the ugliest baby. That's so mean of me to say, but sadly, this baby was a sight for very sore eyes.

I was walking through the school I'm subbing at and passed a mother pushing a baby in a stroller. I always like to sneek a peek at the baby, so as I passed, I was almost frightened at the looks of the poor little girl (or boy).

It's like that one episode of Seinfield where they go to see a friend's baby and it is truly ugly. You just never know what to say to the parents of an ugly baby.

That tiny experience got me thinking, and on my drive home I decided that babies are meant to be cute, no matter what, and when they're not, it's kind of sad.

I know no parent would every say, "Gee, I have an ugly baby!" and actually be proud to say it.
