There's an old saying which goes something like this: What women will do for beauty...
I never really considered myself a "girlie-girl" type, especially in my high school days of a Savers wardrobe and barely-there makeup.
Due to my experience with having over 25 roommates in college, my "girlie-girl" radar substantially pumped up over the years and now, alas, I understand, truly, the above saying.
So, what will women do for beauty? Here's my list of personals:
1. Plucking thick black hairs (otherwise known as eyebrows) with sharp and pointy pluckers. The pain is excrutiating. Just look how red my skin gets after a good plucking!
2. Shaving, also dealing with hair, can become a painful activity if done too fast. I have a nice collection of cuts on my shin representing all those early mornings in the shower that shaving was necessary but time was sparse.
3. Shoes; shoes with heels, too-tight shoes, too-small shoes, ugly shoes. Shoes do accent that cute outfit, but honestly, is ripping your feet to bloody pulps really necessary?
4. Tanning for tan sake. Ok, I admit. I've been tanning before, mostly right before my wedding (I didn't want to look like a complete ghost in my white dress!). I don't burn easily, but still, that's an uncomfortable situation, lying there with heat coming at you from every angle, literally toasting your insides.
Gee, women can be quite silly in their attempts at beauty...me included!!!
