Cassidy, comic relief

Yesterday I had the privillage of tending my darling neice, Cassidy, for a bit while she was at my moms house.

I came over to the house around 9am so I was able to see sweet Cassidy in her ballerina jammies eating a breakfast of toast and a bannana...and a sippie cup of chocolate milk; how can something so simple be absolutely adorable!!!

Anyway, a bit after finishing her breakfast (which she repeatedly called her dinner), I eventually talked Cassidy into going upstairs to get dressed and ready for when Grandma Susan came back. It took some time, but we eventually made our way up to the bathroom.

I decided to do Cassidy's hair first, then fight the almost three year old into putting on clothes other than her ballerina dress and slippers. I can quite compete with how her mom does her hair, but I had a few ideas of my own to try so we got to work. Cassidy was entertained by the blowdryer (unplugged for saftey reasons) and every so often would mumble something to me.

I was just about finished with Cassidy's hair when she quickly turned around, pointed to the old metal scale on the floor and said, "Lauren, grandma Susan stands on that to tell time." And then, just as quickly, she turned back around and resumed playing with the hair dryer.

I wish that's what a scale did!!

Kids say the darndest things.
