strawberry shortcake heaven

Today is a special day. It's my mom's birthday! Yay! Though she wants to forget about it and not celebrate, she's humoring us all tonight by going to dinner and having cake and ice cream with the family.

I had a lovely 4th of July. I love this summer holiday. I spent the day relaxing at home and helping Ben with some English homework. I spent the evening with my mom, grandma, our friend Suzette, and later, with Ben's family. My mom and I went swimming at my grandma's pool, which I always love. Then we had a yummy dinner of steak, corn on the cob, salad, and, my favorite (and what would be my last meal if I were forced to choose): Strawberry Shortcake.

When it got dark, my mom and I went to see the Sandy City fireworks with Ben's mom and dad and brother, Jaren. It was great.

I officially run my dog into the ground this morning. We went on a 2 mile run and just short of 1/2 mile from home, he pooped out and sat down in the middle of the road. I nearly had to drag him home. Needless to say, he's been passed out on the floor ever since we got home and I can hear him snoring from my office. I like it this way, when he doesn't have any energy to annoy me.

My aunt Vivian had her baby last week, 6 weeks early. Little Emily Jane Whear was born at 4lbs, 13 ozs, and 18 inches. I haven't seen her yet, but my grandmas says she is just a little tiny baby doll. They took her home on Monday and mother and baby are doing well.

Yummmmm--wish I was there to have some of the shortcake. Sounds like you had a great holiday!! I finally went out about 2pm to get some lunch and it was 114 degrees so needless to say I didn't stay out long. Then i came home and watched yet MORE TV, and was in bed by 10pm. I woke up at midnight hearing thuds and realized it was firecrackers. And it's 11pm now and its still 101 degrees.
Good news about Vivian's baby--hope all is well with them. That will be a big difference for them.
