After my long and busy week, the weekend has treated me nice. This most definitely will be my last post on Wife's Tale for a while...tomorrow is the first day of school and I'll post on Teacher's Tale as soon as I get home tomorrow.
Friday was my grandma's birthday. Hilary and my grandma's sister, Janice, decided to throw her a surprise party. All of us...uncle John and aunt Vivian and their kids (including darling baby Emily who is no bigger than a peanut), Andrea and her kids, Claudia and her kids, and my brothers and mom and I...met at grandma's swimming pool at 6. There was food and a big cake. Cassidy, who had no idea about the whole surprise, was left up with grandma Ella, and the two of them were told to come down at 6:30. When grandma walked through the gate and saw all of us there, she was so surprised. It was so fun to see her reaction. She laughed and said that she was just about ready to get into in pajamas but was glad she didn't. We had a great time swimming and eating and visiting with each other. I am glad we were able to surprise her!
This is baby Emily with her mom. She is so tiny, her little pants waist go clear up to her armpits.
Saturday I took the hell-dog on a walk. He'd been in isolation after his destroying act on Thursday, so he was full of energy. I ran pretty much most of the time, with the exception of our encounter with the St. Bernard dog, who was almost as tall as me. Zeus was pretty tired when we got home and slept much of the day. After his run, I did a few Primary errands (we kind of reorganized the teachers so I had to pick up and drop off teaching manuals to new teachers). I decided that since it isn't supposed to rain for a few days, to wash my car. I spent about 45 minutes on it and Ben helped me by washing the tires. It looks nice....of course, with the exception of the silver hood, which will hopefully be fixed this month.
My mom and I went in together to get new glasses, a 2 for $99 special. My glasses were ordered Friday and were ready for pick-up Saturday afternoon, so Ben and I went to pick them up. I haven't had new glasses since my junior year in high school and nearly 3 prescriptions ago. We got into the place and they gave me my glasses. I put them on and looked at Ben to ask what he thought and he just laughed. He said they made me look like an old lady in a rest home. I love them, though, so it doesn't hurt my feelings. Tell me what you think; I just took this picture this morning:They are black, chunky frames with a hint of blue around the inside of the rims. It's weird to be able to see through glasses, though, since my old glasses were not the correct prescription.
Last night, Ben and I went boating with his uncle Dan and other family. We left our house at 4 and got to East Canyon Reservoir by 4:45. It was a fun time to sit and relax on the boat. It was perfect weather. Most of the boys tried wake-boarding, which looked fun but I didn't really want to try. After the wake-boarding, the girls (me and Meaghan and Tati) rode on the tube. It was fun, but now my arms and legs hurt! We were on the lake until almost 9:30, after which Ben I drove home, had hot chocolate, and went to bed.
Tonight we're going to watch Johnny and Laci open their wedding gifts and have dinner at the parent's Hubert. I need to make it an early night, however, so I can be ready for my big day tomorrow. I feel much less stressed than last year, but I'm excited to meet my students!

Good luck tomorrow! Wish I was joining you---still doing the sub thing. Well, and photography-that's a lot of fun.
Love, love, love the glasses. You're so dang cute in them! Tell Ben hi for us.
I love the glasses-I am supposed to get a new pair each year with my health insurance, but always hate the ones they have. You have always looked good in glasses. Do you have any other pictures of Ella's birthday party?
Love ya
