Ben and I spent all day Saturday at the Utah Scottish Festival & Highland Games at Thanksgiving Point. Who knew such a festival existed? We had a great time and plan on making this one of our new traditions.

A few highlights of the fun-filled day:
1. We saw sporting events, like the caber toss, with heavy-duty athletes. We also watched Ben's 6 year-old cousin do the rock toss (I know there's a fancier name for this, but I can't remember):
2. We saw (and heard) lots of bagpipe bands:

3. Ben dressed up in Scottish armor:
4. We ate interesting food; Ben tried Haggis, I had a Shepherd's Pie, and we both ate HUGE turkey legs.
5. We (I mostly) danced to Scottish rock bands with Ben's baby cousin:6. We watched some fun Scottish dancers:7. We got henna tattoos. Here's my sun, which will last a couple of weeks:
8. We (again, I mostly) got super sun-burned (the picture really doesn't do justice to my killer sunglasses tan!):
We stayed until about 10 listening to the various Scottish rock bands...the Wicked Tinkers were the best! We were both SO tired. Ben's souvenir was a Scottish walking stick, which he wants to take hiking. I got a pretty silver necklace with the Claddagh symbol. Thanks, Aunt Cindi for letting us know about this fun festival!!
