donut falls

With only about 2 weeks left until I have to be back to work, I decided that I need to do a lot more playing!! Sure, I've played a lot this summer, but I want to play hard the next 2 weeks!!

Yesterday, Ben had the day off and we went to play together at Donut Falls up Big Cottonwood Canyons, one of our favorite hiking spots. We hiked there in the fall of '03, right before Ben was activated for Iraq.

We packed our day packs, put on our hiking boots, and headed to the trail head yesterday afternoon. It was quite a bit cooler up there, the weather was perfect, and we had a blast!
I always make Ben take pictures of me so I can post them on here...not because I love getting my pictures taken! Here I am at the trail head.

Ben climbed all the way to the top, right by the Donut...
...and I was too chicken, so I stayed at the bottom...can you see me in between those rocks??


And then we set up Ben's camera on the tripod and got some cute shots. (The one at the very top may be part of our Christmas card this year!)
And this is a totally awesome picture my great husband took of me while setting up his camera. I think it's my best picture ever.

Today's playing? Well, I went to the temple. And tonight (supposedly) Ben's taking me to a release party for the new Stephenie Meyer book, Breaking Dawn, at Barnes and Noble at midnight. We'll see if I can last!
