Last night the Beijing Olympic opening ceremonies aired on TV. I recorded it because we were at a wedding reception all evening. I still haven't watched it, but have heard it was a good one. As I've been home today, I've had the Olympics on in the background, rallying and rooting for Americans in all of today's events. I love the Olympics.
I've had my own kind of Olympics today.
My Olympic event today? Organization. Major organization.
Today, all while wearing my pj's, I took on the marathon task of organizing my office/craft room. It's been somewhat of a disaster since before we left to Colorado and I finally motivated myself to straighten things up. I cleared off my desk, the craft table, and all the stuff on the floor. Now I can see the carpet, the top of my desk, and my craft drawers are actually able to open!
I also gathered all of the random stuff I've bought for school this year: supplies, posters, folders, etc. I'm a geek in that I LOVE the smell of new school supplies! The school stuff is now in an organized fashion in a box that I will take to my room on Monday when I begin the daunting task of moving and setting up my new space!
Also included in my marathon organization activities is the re-creation of my 8th Grade English disclosure statement and total revamp of my MEdia Productions disclosure statement. I've used the same disclosure (which is meant to explain my classroom policies and expectations) for two years and after those two years kind of "figuring" it all out, I feel much better about the new and improved documents. I spent quite a few hours working on the wording of each statement, finding graphics and proofing. They are now saved on my jump drive ready to be printed in the hundreds for my 2008 dears.
And the last even of my Olympic marathon day: I wrote the whole entire Primary Sacrament meeting program!!! I've been hoping to find an already completed program on a website (like I did last year) but was starting to freak because our program is in October. So, I just buckled down and typed it up. It's definitely a rough draft and it will be worked over with my counselors, but it feels good to have a start!
I hope you all received my invitation to view my now private blog. I hope you'll enjoy my blog. (And I hope you'll leave a comment once and a while...that means you, MOM!!!)

And now, as I've mentioned before, you could come and organize my place, although it does sounds like you have more stuff than me :)
