I decided to treat myself to some hair dye tonight. It's been a while since I dyed my hair a tragic orange color and my roots make me gag a little each time I see them (no, I promise I'm really not vain). While I love to get a color done professionally, it's not really in the budget so I settled for a box of Nice 'N Easy # 116--Brown. After a long and cranky day, I stopped at Walgreens, purchased the little box, and came home to do some more chemical damage to my hair. I'm pleased with how it turned out; a nice little change. I'll have to get a picture at some point. I'm convinced that a $7 box of hair dye can be the difference between a good day and a cranky day.
Another difference between a good day and a cranky day is knowing that tomorrow is (finally) Friday. Friday's are always good, no matter how icky you may feel. Knowing that it's the last day of the week you actually have to get up for something, or that you actually have to get out of your pajamas before 7, or that you actually have to face the daunting task of trying to make punctuation exciting for 140 rambunctious teenagers. Friday's for me usually mean spending time with Ben, who I probably see a total of 5 hours during the rest of the week. Friday's also mean being able to stay up past 9:30 and catching one of the late night shows even though I'm usually too tired and delirious to really get their jokes.
This Friday will be full of fun family shin-digs, which is another difference between a good day and a cranky day. Any time spent with my darling niece, Cassidy, is the difference between a good and cranky day. Hilary is having her Halloween Cookie decorating party tomorrow night. She does such a great job making fun-shaped sugar cookies and providing fun frosting and decorations for us to use. My oldest brother, Eric, and his wife, Heather are coming into town for a baby shower. The baby shower is on Saturday in Delta (where Heather is from). It'll be fun to see them and get together with my family--minus Zach, who is on some hiking and/or camping adventure with his friend.
Another difference between a good and cranky day is putting off the last bit of homework to go enjoy a HUGE, overflowing bowl of ice cream, which is what I'm going to do right now.

I think your hair always looks cute! But, I agree, a new dye-job always makes things better. (Ha, just ask Brandon. His hair has been a few shades that I didn't even know were part of the color spectrum)
Hooray for Fridays!
