If you watched Oprah today, you know what I'm talking about. I just finished watching the show and have a new obsession that isn't even in my possession...yet.
She did a feature on her show today about the new Amazon Kindle, the electronic device that you can download books on to read (and newspapers...and blogs...and music...and audiobooks). She had the creator on and explained all that the Kindle is able to do. You can download books right off the device without getting on your computer and it literally takes seconds for the book to arrive.
Of course, being Oprah, she gave ALL of the audience a Kindle and made sure her home audience weren't left out: by logging onto Oprah.com, you may get a promotion code for $50 off of the near $400 item. How generous. Even with a $50 off coupon, I don't think I'll be getting one any time soon.
If your a rich stranger who reads my blog and who also has a special passion for books (and for being 'green,' since the Kindle saves on printing books on paper), I wouldnt' be opposed to you offering to purchase one for me. Sure, I could "use" plenty other stuff (a new couch, baby stuff, $$ for a bill or two, etc.), but a Kindle would be oh-so-fun to open.
A girl can dream, right?
