As always, this school break has gone by super fast and before I know it, it'll be 5:30am on Monday and I'll be getting up to return to work. I have a pretty lengthy to-do list today, but I'm still enjoying my little break.
This year we had an extra day off; instead of just Thursday and Friday, we also got Wednesday off. I used Wednesday to finish this week's lame-o homework and clean the house in preparation for the day after Thanksgiving tradition of putting up the Christmas decorations. Ben worked Wednesday, but got home fairly early, so we spent the evening together--a total rarity these days!
We did a little shopping and went to dinner. Ben totally surprised me by suggesting that we go see "Twilight," which I thought he'd never be interested in seeing. I wasn't really in a big hurry to see it--like some of those other "Twilight" freaks, you know who you are...jk--but I took him up on the offer. I enjoyed the movie for the entertainment (and, ok, I'll admit, Edward was totally dreamy) and Ben seemed to get into it as well and kept asking me questions about what was going on. I'm challenging him to read the book.
Thursday we spent Thanksgiving at my moms with my family. It was great. Always excellent food. Always lots of laughs prompted by Cassidy. We had fun playing Guitar Hero World Tour on Zach and Hilary's Wii. Let it be known that I cannot sing! Ha. After dinner, Hilary (my s-i-l who is about 6 weeks ahead of me in pregnancy) and I were so stuffed and feeling the uncomfortable pressure of the digestion process. We both sat on the couch, put up our legs, and reclined, really the only comfortable position. I also think I was experiencing some major heartburn. My mom took a few pictures of us and our bellies, but I didn't get them from her yet.
Thursday night we went to Ben's grandparents house to visit and, well, let's face it, eat some more. We played my favorite game, "Apples to Apples" with a big bunch of people and then were entertained until 11pm by a slide show of pictures from the family, everything from when my mother-in-law was a teenager all the way up to when Benjamin was a baby. It was pretty fun to see B as a baby, so stinkin' cute!
Yesterday Ben had another day off-awesome. We slept in, lounged in our PJs until noon, watched our favorite holiday movie, "Love Actually," and then put up Christmas deocrations, including lights on the outside! It was great to be able to sit on the couch with my B and relax for the rest of the evening.
I just got home from the temple, finished homework, and put together tomorrow's sharing time. I have a few errands to run today, but didn't want to forget about my great weekend so I decided to post. I promise to have more exciting posts coming soon!!
