life, currently

Currently, I'm sitting in the chaos of office dejunking clutter. The clutter comes from the process of dejunking my office to make room for a spare bed, which is taking up space in the soon-to-be-baby nursery. In order to start the baby room, I have to dejunk my room. This is a long process, for it isn't simply a little dusting here or organization there.

Here's what still needs to be done before we begin the nursery:

1. Clear off & organize my ginormous L-shaped desk (which takes up two walls), including sorting through loads of random paper work and your typical office supplies.
2. Take a picture of said desk so Ben can post it it on KSL classifieds to sell.
3. Go pick up my new desk, found on KSL classifieds, tomorrow evening. This desk is smaller and more compact, which will come into play in a few more steps.
4. Move the new desk to its new location in the room. Organize the paper and junk from my previous desk to fit the new desk.
5. Rearrange my book shelves. There is just no going around the fact that I have two bookshelves chock full of books...I can't get rid of any books, so the two shelves must stay, and thus must be moved around a bit.
6. Move the spare bed from the soon-to-be-nursery into my office. (It's taking the place of one side of my old desk)
7. Begin demolishing and remodeling the nursery. (This will mostly be B's responsibility as I'm quite useless when it comes to these types of handy tasks...)

If you've done some math here, you recognize that I have just one day to get my butt into gear and take care of steps 1 and 2. I have a huge dilemma, though, because part of step 1 is to unplug my computer and tuck it somewhere else for a few days until the new desk is up & the rest of the room arranged The real dilemma is that this is the last week in my horrible, awful, treacherous, lame-o research class and I have quite the assignment to complete by week's end.

Currently also, I'm dealing with a 1.5 lb baby inside my belly who seems to be sitting on a nerve that connects to my right hip--walking is a real chore and lifting anything more than my own arms is challenging.

And it's just dawned on me that instead of writing this all down as a blog post, I should be finding a way to get it done.

But it is so much easier to write about it! Good luck getting all your organizing done!!

I know the feeling...we have to "convert" an office to nursery. What is the saying...you eat an elephant one bite at a time! My recommendation is make changes to the nursery that are not too "permanent" (i.e. painting the room pink)...
