Time flies when you're married

Top of the afternoon to ya. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.

We here at the Hubert household have been celebrating our first year of marriage this weekend. A year ago Monday (31st), we were married. Actually, if you look at it in terms of just days, a year ago yesterday we were married...but, besides us, who really cares??

It's safe to say that after a year of marriage, I've learned that:

- It doesn't matter how big your bedspread may be, someone will always yank it to their side during the middle of the night.
- It's true what they say about how romance ends after the honeymoon.
- You really do have to pick your battles; it's not entirely worth arguing over the location of the toaster in the kitchen.
- Men and women are completely different in more ways than one.
- You shouldn't drop subtle hints about things you like, just come right out and say it.
- Ben really has a photographic memory and really does memorize every single thing he sees or hears.
- Ben's memory sometimes gets on my last nerve.
- Yelling does no good, especially when you're sitting right in front of each other.
- Compromising may sound like the easiest thing, but really, it sucks.
- Men aren't as excited about one year as women are.
- To solve a big problem, it's just best to buy two things of toothpaste.

For our one year, we went to dinner last night, thanks to mom and dad Hubert, to Chili's in Idaho Falls. It was sure tasty! We also went to see "Million Dollar Baby." What a great show! I highly recommend it.

Tomorrow, on the real anniversary, we're going to be traditional and eat our cake top which has been frozen in my mom's freezer for a year. I hope it tastes good.

Have a good week. Love you all.
