Alas, I post.
Just two months out of college as an English major and I already miss the writing element. I kicked myself in the butt today for not posting and decided I didn't like the pain, so here I am. That's either good or bad news. Take your pick.
I suppose part of my posting digression comes with the fact that my life is a total mess right now. I'm up, then I'm down; I'm here, then I'm there; I'm giddy, then I'm defunct. I'll tell you this much right now, however, I'm bound and determined to stay up-beat and smiley (even if it's a fake smile).
Instead of boring my readers with the painful details (well, I'm not even entirely sure that I have readers anymore) I'll just give you a miniscule update on my life:
Teaching Job: Nope, not yet. But after a few minor set-backs (i.e. a district, which I'll leave un-named lost my application on a messy desk), I'm hoping something will happen by the end of the summer. I talked to all of the districts today and got some uplifting news: I'm top on the list for English positions. Keep your fingers crossed.
Summer Job: I was really hoping Sylvan would want me but apparently they only really like to hire experienced teachers. I've interviewed for a few jobs, but, there again, I must lack some random quality they are looking for (either that, or I'm a total loser). Ben, luckily, got a job as a server at a fairly decent restaurant. My next step is advertising myself as a tutor.
I'm 23!: I spent a wonderful birthday weekend in Las Vegas with my dad and Ben. We drove down and had a great 5-day visit. I got some shoes (YAY!). My mom took me to dinner on D-Day and then to a movie (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants). Low-key day, but wonderful none-the-less.
Well, so much for an exciting post. I'll be doing better, both at posting and at the subject of my posts. I hope that any of the readers still reading will continue to read. I won't disappoint.
