before it's too late...

I don't know why it's been so long. I don't know what my problem is, I really do enjoy posting. I always have things to post about, but I get lazy and "not in the mood," so I just don't. I wish when stuff happened, I would just sit and post and not hold off until I feel like it.

For example, two weeks ago (which totally isn't cool anymore) I had the opportunity to donate blood. It was my first time and I was quite anxious. It was held up at the church, and my mom was there. So, being the baby that I can be, I made my mom stand next to me while I gave blood. They stuck the needle in my right arm; it didn't hurt too bad. Suddenly, I hear the phlibotomist say, "uh-oh," which is something you never want any medical professional to say in your presence. I looked up at my mom and she didn't seem worried, but I had no desire to look at my arm and see what was up. Eventually, the nice young man told me that the blood had stopped flowing (as if I had just died for a minute) and that he needed me to make a fist. That didn't work, so while the needle was in my arm, they had to wiggle it around. At the time it didn't hurt and about 10 minutes later, I had donated a beautiful bag of blood. I left, not thinking anything more of it, but when I woke up the next morning, I had a bruise the size, and color, of a plum on my arm at the point of insertion. Now, it would have been cool for posting purposes to write about that experience two weeks ago and post pictures every few days of my bruise (which you can still see faintly), but I was just too lazy and tired to do it. That would have been cool.

So, before it's too late, let me tell you another cool experience that happened just yesterday (so much better than two weeks ago). We went camping/fishing this weekend with Ben's family. They have a motorhome and fishing boat, so we headed up to Strawberry resevoir for a few days. It was great! The weather was cold, but still perfect and being on the water was spectacular. I only went fishing yesterday (I "ooppsed" and forgot my license so we had to buy a day license). We got in the boat and started trolling out. They have a fish finder on the boat which helps us tell if there are any fish around or not. It was quite helpful. My first cast turned to be uneventful, but after reeling in and hooking a new worm on my line, I cast again and was pleasantly surprise when 30 seconds later, I was reeling in a beautiful rainbow trout, 13'' 1lb. I felt my brother the outdoorsman would be proud. After that, the rest of the day was boring, but I enjoyed sitting in the boat all the same.

I will be starting a two-week long sub job on Tuesday. I am going to be teaching computer tech, business, and school store at a local high school. The regular teacher is out on maternity leave and a student teacher (gee, I miss those days) will pick up where I leave off on November 7th. It will be fun to have a consistent routine for a few weeks, plus I'll get paid extra! Also, I'm trying to set up a tutoring program where I would tutor a few students in reading/writing, but it is still in its infant stages.

Well, that's all for now. Tomorrow (or the next time I post) I will share some of my recent reading favorites and convince you to pick them up!!!!
