girls/boys

So obviously I've been 'absent' the last few days. Believe it or not, I've been busy!

I had the opportunity to take 6 of my Primary girls, along with my 2nd counselor, to Community Day Camp up at Camp Tracey. They got to experience what their male counterparts do at day camp. We had a great time. Yesterday they shot BB Guns, panned for gold, and learned about endangered animals. Today, we played "CSI: Cub Science Investigation." They shot bows and arrows, made things explode, and learned about gravity. Though I did nothing but sit and watch, I'm beat!

Some of you may remember a while back I wrote about going to the boys Webloes day camp. I didn't have such a great time their; it was boring. Going with the girls was a different story. It was fun to observe their differences (which are HUGE). Girls are funny--they are all drama, all 'chick-fight' and stuff.

Yesterday, two of our girls were BFF! Then, today something happened and they became mortal enemies: "No, I won't sit there by HER!" It was a chore to keep the two in check. On the way home, however, they became BFF again and I think they're planning on buying BFF necklaces today!

I received a letter from my principal last Friday that explained the beginning of the school year. I will be heading back to WL on Monday the 27th for teacher meetings, prepping my room, and Back to School Night--all mandatory.

However, there is a major snag in this plan. My bro in law, Johnny, is marrying Laci on the same night of Back to School Night--mandatory--and I'm probably going to miss it. With the wedding in Bountiful @ 6 (and pictures to follow) and Back to School Night in West Valley @ 7, I'm not so sure I'll make it. Stay tuned for regular updates.

I'm getting very anxious to get back to school. It will be nice to have that structure and routine in my life again. And I'm excited to see old students and meet new ones! I think this 2nd year will be a whole new ballgame and I'm thrilled.

Ben is going with the scouts tomorrow to backpack to Kings Peak. They will be there until Saturday. I will miss him, but you know the best part? He's taking my neurotic puppy, Zeus! They are out shopping as I type, purchasing some little booties for the pup, a pup-pack (he'll carry his own food), and a better leash. I can't tell who's more excited: Me, Ben, or the Dog.

Tomorrow night is Laci's wedding shower. I'm helping with food and decorations. It should be a fun night.

I'm ready for a bath. And a nap. And food. Goodbye.
