new obsession

After shopping around and saving some $$, Ben and I just purchased "the last vacuum" we'll ever own. We've been looking around for good deals on the Dyson Animal Vacuum for at least a year. I've just spent today using the "doesn't loose suction" vacuum on nearly every surface in my house. I'm very impressed.

The vacuum is labeled as "ideal" for houses with pets. Since I've recently become obsessed with the cleanliness of my house and have spent several hours a week keeping it clean, this factor really caught my eye. Today as I vacuumed our couch--something I did only last week with our old Dirt Devil--I was amazed at how much dog hair and other junk it picked up.

The salesman at Best Buy told us to do a test where we vacuumed a bit of carpet with the old vacuum and then go back over the same bit with the Dyson. I did this today and was SHOCKED! You can see the canister fill up with pet hair, dust/dirt, other bits of junk, and all those damn ants that still reside in the front room. With a suction power of 100mph, those ants are sure to die!

It came with a bag of pet stain/odor remover to be used on carpets and couches. Technically it's teeny-tiny sponges that you sprinkle on the surface, let settle, and then vacuum. I used it in Zeus' room and it was amazing!

I suppose I'm a geek because I'm so freakin' excited about my new toy. I also suppose there are other things that I could be obsessed with.
