It's been a great UEA break. Like always, it goes by too quickly and Monday morning will be here before I know it.
With Ben gone camping with the young men this weekend, I decided to spend the weekend at my mom's house, in my old bedroom. It's always a nice break to stay at my moms because, well, she totally spoils me. Here's why I love sleeping at my moms:
1. She put the flannel sheets on the twin bed just for me.
2. She was willing to take Zeus on a walk alone (she calls him The Devil Dog) when I thought I was too tired to walk any more, but then went with her and the dog anyway.
3. She asks me for technology help...and I pretend like I know what I'm doing to help her figure out the iPod and uploading pictures.
4. She took me to buy maternity pants. And maternity pants are my new best friend.
5. She took me to dinner two nights in a row and one of those nights was to Hires Big H...and I was seriously craving a big old juicy hamburger.
6. She let me sit on the Lazy-Boy, right next to the fire when we watced ER.
7. She took a half-day off work on Friday so we could go hang out AND she took me to Ikea, Old Navy, and to see "The Secret Life of Bees."
8. She made me French toast this morning before I headed home to face my reality of a messy house and lame homework assignment.
9. She has Grandma Sycamore's white bread, which I hardly ever eat, but it tasted SO good!
10. She made a special trip to Harmon's at 10pm last night to get me some Tylenol because I had an amazing headache.
She is really the best mom ever.
On Thursday I decided to head over to the UEA convention at the Expo center. I'd never been before and figured, well, I get two days off of work for this convention, I might as well check it out. It was free. I was there for maybe 45 minutes. It was lame. I will never go back. But I did get a pretty cool goody bag from Staples, including a memory stick, and some coupons for printing stuff.
I went with my friend, Tara, today to the SL Library Book sale. It was OVERWHELMING!! But totally cool. I had picked out a bunch of books (they were 50c-$1) but then when they said they didn't take debit cards, I decided to put stuff back and perhaps I'll make another trip up there by Tuesday. It was SO cool to see SO many books and it was very fun to spend time with Tara...who also happens to be my pregnancy buddy (she's due on April 3).
I've cleaned the house, done laundry, and put in Shepheard's Pie in the crock pot...and just anxiously waiting for Ben to get home. I hope he gets here soon because I may have to eat some pie without him!!!
