my best friend, sadie
I, along with my wonderful mom, hosted a baby shower last night for my life-long best pal, Sadie. She is having a baby at the end of July and it was so fun to spend the evening with her and old friends and 'shower' baby girl with lots of fun stuff.
Sadie and I have literally been friends since birth. She was born in April, I in June. We grew up living about 100 steps away from each other and played all the time. Even though we didn't have the same friends in high school, we remained close and have been able to maintain a great friendship. Most of my childhood memories include Sadie.
Since I've been out of school for the summer, we've hung out a few times and have had a great time. As we hung out last night we talked about a few of our fun memories, including:
--How she used to be so afraid of fireworks. When we did fireworks for the 4th of July, she'd often be in my room watching from the windows with hands to her ear.
--Calling each other Christmas morning after opening our presents and getting together to show our presents, especially the American Girl Dolls.
--Playing "Indian Basketball" with Sadie's little sister, Annie...a game we made up on the spot to entertain ourself, using a small bouncy ball and sitting on the ground with legs spread out.
--Lots of Sundays at church, summers at girls camp/Oakcrest, and sleepovers on the tramp.
Really, there are too many memories to write down here. I'm so excited for her and her husband to have a fun new addition to their family. I'm glad she is my friend. Love ya, Sad.

What a nice thing to do...you should find a picture of you and Sadie when you were kiddos and post that too--you probably have dozens.
PS Are you going to see the American Girls movie--comes out soon?
Love
